A message from President                                 19th May 2012       

I cannot believe it is almost a month since I accepted the honour of serving as your President

During this transitional period the executive committee members and myself have been busy. Quality time was invested in planning an exciting and interesting year ahead for the members. Besides the drawing up of the schedule of events for the year, some  other ideas have also  been initiated.

The strategy is twofold. Everyone knows new blood is vital to healthy circulation. Hence practise M-G-M  (member gets member). Then the question arises “ Why should I join your club (in a sea of choices)?” It is important for potential members to get a “feel”  of the benefits of  joining the Club

As major functions are spaced some months  apart, therefore If one is unable to  attend the event, he/she will eventually lose touch with other members. There is also the problem of mingling at large and formal functions for some members. This is why I have introduced the  M-M-M (member meets member) event. These informal but pre-arranged gatherings would enable people to meet  in a casual environment. It will be held once a month at various venues and different times.  Dates will be notified via email and updated on the web-site (www.singaporeclub.ca) .Some members may prefer an evening of relaxation while some with younger families may like earlier part of the day. VSC Ex-Co members play the role of co-ordinator for all M-M-M events. Food and drinks ordered will be on individual account. I have already scouted out some interesting places.

I take this opportunity to thank all the past Presidents and Ex-Co members for their contribution and services in building the Club. A big “thank you” to all who have generously sponsored the Club and I look forward to your continuous support.
